We began our trip to Williams last July when we booked our reservation for the Polar Express. A week ago, we decided to extend our trip by a day by staying Saturday as well as Sunday. Saturday night, we stayed at the Canyon Country Inn. It was a very cool house turned hotel. It is located right on Route 66 making it within walking distance of my new favorite coffee house, American Flyer, which by the way is half coffee house, half children’s play area, and half bike shop. Yes I know that adds to 1.5, which is why its such a cool place to enjoy a hot beverage. Sunday, we drove up to the Grand Canyon and toured the area. Aubrey got to learn how to drive on ice, the keyword being momentum. Ethan loved playing in the snow, so much that we are planning a trip back to Flagstaff/Williams for snow and sledding. We returned just in time to check into our next hotel, the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel, and eat dinner before the Polar Express. The Polar Express was cool way to spend the evening. We read the book, drank hot cocoa, and sang Christmas songs. Ethan even received a Christmas bell from Santa Claus. We headed home the next day to spend it with Grandma Lisa making peanut butter balls. We finally made it home Tuesday night, just shy of 10pm. I am sure Aubrey will have more to say soon. Below are some photos highlighting the trip.
We spent last night at Robert’s and Jodi’s annual Halloween party. It included a pumpkin carving contest and costume contest. Aubrey and I went as George and Jane Jetson. Here are some photos of my pumpkin. It was really fun to hang out with our friends. Aubrey even had an alcoholic beverage!
We had a great Easter Day! The Easter bunny visited our house and left a basket of Wooden trains, Thomas and friends, for the train table we are working on for Ethan. There was also a Thomas bubble blower and an Etch a Sketch in his basket. He had a blast playing with the trains! We then went over to Grandma Glenda’s and Grandpa’s Bill’s house. We had a fun time coloring eggs and playing with toys. Then we went to Grandma Lisa’s house and visited with family. Ethan napped most of the time there, but we had lots of quality time with Logan (Ethan’s cousin). Then it was home for bed and relaxation!! Here are the pictures.
The Maricopa MOMs Club I belong to held a Family Easter brunch yesterday. It was a lot of fun!!! There was a lot of yummy food and friends to hang out with. The Easter bunny rode up on a motorcycle and stayed for the rest of the festivities. Ethan was not a fan of the Easter bunny. Ethan did enjoy his first Easter egg “hunt”. We had a great time!! Here are some pictures.
Happy Birthday Kathy. Post any fun photos from your day.
We had my parents, my brother, and his new wife over for Christmas Eve. Ethan made out like a bandit (hard to believe). Photos are here.

This year, Aubrey and my anniversary landed on Thanksgiving. We have been married for 4 years (together for 9). We started the day by walking (Eddie and I jogged) a 5k with Aubrey’s Stroller Strides friends. Then we headed back to cook the fine meal. While the food was cooking, we played frisbee and even had a nice game of Ultimate (Ed and Bill vs. Eddie, Holley, and me). Both kids handled the disc very well. The food was tasty, almost as good as the company.
